Endometrial Biopsy

Removal of a small amount of endometrium (endometrium)

This is done by inserting a small catheter or a small curette through the cervix into the uterine cavity and collecting some tissue. This can be done as part of the consultation (no anaesthetic is required) or together with a uterine endoscopy. The tissue obtained can then be examined in various ways (e.g. histologically; see also: endometrial plasma and NK cell determination, ERA test).
